Log Home Construction

Alberta Log Homes are Hand-Crafted using modern techniques during all stages of the log home package construction. Our log packages are not made from machined logs. Full length large diameter (12”-16” mid diameter) local pine or spruce logs are hand peeled and hand scribed tight. There is no chinking required.

The saddle notch combined with an" over-scribe" style of construction performs excellent by keeping the notches as tight as possible throughout the settling process.

A foam rod insulator is placed between the logs in the notches and lateral. Installing the foam rod throughout the entire log structure ensures a proper air and water tight seal.
